For matlab on cluster, download DCS, choose custom for what to download, and make sure license manager is checked. do custom install, install all toolboxes and license manager. Use license with just DCS. Will get other licenses from UW from variables assigned in /etc/profile

have to use hostnames, not ip range. bummer. (in admincenter, but now using torque/moab)

mdce is located in /usr/local/matlab10/toolbox/distcomp/bin/

has log files in /var/log/mdce

./mdce stop -clean

to start workers, matlab license must be running

matlab license for mdce runs on sarah

to make mdce work on diskless clients:

ln -s /usr/local/matlab10/toolbox/distcomp/bin/mdce /etc/init.d/.mdce.default
