July_2_Timpanago

After getting off of the river, we headed back towards Salt Lake City to visit Timpanogos Cave National Monument. Because of its proximity to Salt Lake City, it was very crowded when we got there, late Friday afternoon of the 4th of July weekend. I have never seen so many ATVs in one place at one time. The cave was well-worth it, however. Very cool colors and rock formations. Unfortunately, the colors do not come through well in the photos. After our tour of the cave, we hiked to Silver Lake. Then we opted for some city, inside visits, and checked out the Dinosaur Museum outside of Salt Lake City. We also visited Temple Square in Salt Lake City, but I forgot my camera in the car, and didn't get David's off of his camera before we dropped him off at the airport... It was very surreal walking through a major city that was, except for Temple Square, deserted. Sunday in Mormon country. The pictures are in a strange order, because David's pictures and mine are in blocks, one after the other.
